Bunbury Central 1938 and 1946
1938
Around The Houses racing started in Bunbury in 1938 with the running of the Bunbury Flying Fifty, the race was run again 8 years later in 1946.
The start line was in Clifton Street at Guppy Park racing in a clockwise direction, turning left into Victoria Street, left into Stephen Street, right into Arthur Street, right into Stirling Street, right into Wittenoom Street, left into Princep Street, right into Upper Esplanade, right into Wellington Street, left back onto Wittenoom Street, right into Carey Street crossing Victoria Steet and back into Clifton Street for the finish.
1946
The results for the 1946 race using the same circuit were:
1st Barry Ranford dirving the # 6 Ranford Special completing the race in 74 minutes 45 seconds.
2nd Wally La Motte in the # 12 Ford V8.
3rd Ted Harris in the # 10 Plymouth Special.
The fasted lap went to Duncan Ord at 2 minutes 19 seconds in the # 9 Bugatti, but unfortunately he failed to finish.

TUNING UP FOR THE DERBY!
The scene on the hill in Prinsep Street just before the start of the Derby on Saturday last, conducted by the Apex Club of Bunbury.
The winner, Digby Bellet can be seen fifth from the right.
That Bat car on the left was built by Max Cook (driving) and Jim Renfree (standing at rear of car).

CAREY PARK 1962
Only one Flying Fifty was ever raced on this circuit which was made up of an inner and an outer circuit.
The inner circuit had the start line in Blair Street and went in a clockwise direction, turning right into Clarke Street, right into Yorla Road, right into Wisbey Street, left into Eccleston Street, right into Frankel Street, right into Gibbs Street which continued on into Mitchell Crescent and then right back into Blair Street for the finish.
The outer main circuit also started in Blair Street and went clockwise but turned left at Clarke Street, right into Mary Street, left into Constitution Street and then North along Spencer Street, right at the Highway corner and along Forrest Avenue, right into Ecclestone Street, right at Frankel Street, right at Gibbs Street which then continued into Mitchell Crescent and then right back onto Blair Street for the finish.

BUNBURY CENTRAL 1963
Racing returned to the Central Bunbury Circuit in 1963 after the previous year's event being held in Carey Park.
The circuit was modified to make it larger, the start was still at Guppy Park and travelled along Clifton Street, left into Victoria Street, left into Stephen Street, right into Arthur Street, right into Stirling Street, left into Wellington Street, right into Upper Esplanade, right into Clifton Street, left back onto Wittenoom Street, right into Carey Street, left back onto Victoria Street and a hairpin turn back onto Clifton Street for the finish.
The circuit was modified to make it larger, the start was still at Guppy Park and travelled along Clifton Street, left into Victoria Street, left into Stephen Street, right into Arthur Street, right into Stirling Street, left into Wellington Street, right into Upper Esplanade, right into Clifton Street, left back onto Wittenoom Street, right into Carey Street, left back onto Victoria Street and a hairpin turn back onto Clifton Street for the finish.
